Well done, I always wanted to play more with this dc_ztransl variation But those different "layers" are problematic for me so that I always discarded my work before I found the patience to find the right coloring settings as you did.
I tried some hack to implement an algorithm which can hide/fade out "invisible" portions of Pseudo3D flames, but it did not work well in the first version and I did never come back to it yet. But maybe some day, as I really love those 3d flames
